Entries are now open for the 2017 Sunday Times EFG Short Story Award.
The prize is an international award that is administered by the Society of Authors. Founded in 2010, it is open to any story of up to 6,000 words written in English.
Are you an awesome novelist or story writer?
Have you been published in the past, particularly in the UK or Ireland?
How much publicity did you enjoy and how much financial benefit was it crowned with?
Well, here is another chance to prove your literary worth again. By demonstrating your fine craft through the rhythm of your pen and paper before the world, £30,000 could be yours.
The Sunday Times EFG Short Story Award is administered by The Society of Authors
The winner will receive £30,000
Five authors shortlisted for the award will each receive £1,000.

» Stories need to have been either previously unpublished or only published after 31 December 2015.
» Story should be up to 6,000 words written in English
» To be eligible, the author must simply have a record of prior publication in creative writing in the United Kingdom or Ireland.
» Entries can be made either digitally by pressing the Digital Entry Form button, or by post, by pressing the Postal Entry Form button, printing the postal form off and sending it together with 11 copies of the story to the address listed on this page.
» The deadline for entries is 6pm (GMT) on Thursday, 29 September 2016.
